East-South Face of Mount Taranaki

East-South Face of Mount Taranaki

This image was taken on 30 June 2015, when I stayed in Maketawa Hut on the other side of Mount Taranaki. On the whole day when I hiked to this hut, I didn't see the mountain summit at all due to a heavy cloudy weather. I even thought I went to a wrong place, though my GPS showed that the mountain should be just in front of me. However, by around 6:30pm, the sky became clear, and the mountain summit just suddenly stood out.

This image was a result from a single shot for long exposure of 1259 seconds (about 21 minutes).
