Yan Zhang Photography | Fox Glacier, New Zealand (2017)

5 photos
I undertook a 4 day expedition to Fox Glacier from 4 - 7 December 2017. During this expedition, I successfully climbed Grey Peak (2882 m) and Lendenfeld Peak (3194 m), which also became my first 3000+ m New Zealand peak.

In order to take photographs, we camped one night in Marcel Col, I carried all my camera gears with a heavy back of 20+kg to this place. On the way back to the Pioneer Hut after we completed Lendenfeld Peak climb, it was quite difficult to walk on soft snow surface, although I wore snow shoes.

We were very lucky to have good weather condition for this trip. The next day after we got off the mountain, the weather turned to bad and such bad weather lasted for a week.
